    Copyright Policy

    Last Revised: October 30, 2026

This policy explains how to tell us that something on FavQs infringes your copyright, and how to respond if we removed something you added. It covers the website at favqs.com, the FavQs apps, the FavQs API and the FavQs MCP endpoint (together, the "Service"), which Faceted Thought, LLC runs. We follow the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

    Quotes and fair use

Most quotes on FavQs are short excerpts, credited to whoever said or wrote them. Short phrases generally can't be copyrighted, and we believe sharing short, attributed quotes is fair use, so please consider fair use before you send a notice. To fix a wrong attribution or a typo, you don't need a copyright notice: email support@favqs.com.

    Our copyright agent

Send copyright notices and counter-notices to our designated agent:

    Sending a notice

    Your notice must include:

    1. Your physical or electronic signature, as the copyright owner or someone authorized to act for them.
    2. The copyrighted work you believe is infringed or, for several works, a representative list of them.
    3. The material on FavQs you believe infringes it, with its URL, so we can find it.
    4. Your name, postal address, phone number and email address.
    5. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
    6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you're the copyright owner or authorized to act for them.

We may not act on a notice that leaves any of these out. If you knowingly misrepresent that something infringes, you may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees.

When we receive a complete notice, we act promptly to remove the material or disable access to it, and we tell the person who added it, if we can.

    Sending a counter-notice

If we removed something you added and you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, you can send our agent a counter-notice. It must include:

    1. Your physical or electronic signature.
    2. The material we removed, and the URL where it appeared.
    3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
    4. Your name, postal address and phone number.
    5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the district where your address is or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found, and that you'll accept service of process from the person who sent the notice, or their agent.

We send a copy of a complete counter-notice to the person who sent the notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they've filed a court action to keep the material down, we restore it 10 to 14 business days after we receive your counter-notice. If you knowingly misrepresent that material was removed by mistake, you may be liable for damages.

    Repeat infringers

In appropriate circumstances, we close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe others' copyrights.
